The Denver Post has an article on the new crime statistics in Denver. Following a national trend (New York City is now apparently the safest big city!), Denver’s murder rates are down, the lowest since 2000 and the second lowest since 1964.
Lots of speculation taking place by the commenters to the story, but whatever the reason, it’s still good news. It’ll be interesting to see what this statistic looks like next year, though. The economy, which can have a negative impact on crime rates, is sure to have an effect.
